General Information

Signs of burnout often manifest through a variety of symptoms. These can include chronic fatigue, increased irritability, difficulty concentrating, sleep disruptions, decreased libido, and physical ailments like headaches or muscle tension. You might find yourself overwhelmed by minor tasks, altering your sleep patterns, neglecting meals or turning to comfort foods, avoiding social interactions, or losing interest in personal hygiene. Additionally, behaviours such as screening phone calls, feeling disconnected from work or life, and excessive social media use may indicate burnout. If you consistently experience these symptoms, it’s important to consider the possibility of burnout.

Combining nutrition and therapy services can provide a holistic approach to wellness, addressing both physical and emotional aspects of health. This integration can enhance overall well-being, improve coping skills, and support long-term lifestyle changes.

Our services offer a supportive environment where you can explore underlying issues contributing to anxiety, burnout, or stress. Through therapy techniques and nutritional guidance, we aim to help you develop coping strategies, build resilience, and achieve greater balance in your life.

A trauma-informed approach recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and aims to create a safe, supportive environment for clients. It prioritizes understanding the effects of trauma and integrates this awareness into all aspects of care to promote healing.

I support working professionals aged 25 to 55 who are experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, or high stress levels. Please note that I do not offer treatment for eating disorders or psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. Additionally, my services do not focus on weight loss or sports nutrition, and I do not provide couples therapy.

Please be aware that, due to licensing regulations, I am only able to offer therapy services within the province of Ontario, Canada. If your needs fall outside of my scope of practice, I am committed to assisting you in finding appropriate resources and referrals.

Psychotherapy Information

Psychotherapy, led by Registered Psychotherapists, is a talk-based therapy aimed at enhancing mental health and overall well-being. It involves collaborative work between the therapist and the client to foster positive changes in thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and social interactions. People typically pursue psychotherapy when experiencing challenges impacting their daily lives, relationships, and overall enjoyment of life.

Psychiatrists are specialized medical doctors in mental health, offering diagnoses and treatments for conditions like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression. They often use a combination of medication, therapy, and other therapeutic methods, with the ability to prescribe medication.

Psychologists, typically holding advanced degrees like Ph.D. or Psy.D., specialize in assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health issues. They use various therapeutic techniques, such as talk therapy and cognitive-behavioural therapy, to aid individuals in overcoming psychological challenges and improving their well-being. However, psychologists cannot prescribe medication.

Psychotherapists, often with Master’s level degrees, provide talk therapy or counselling to individuals, couples, families, or groups, focusing on emotional, behavioural, or relational issues. Their goal is to help clients develop coping strategies and enhance overall mental health.

Social workers, with degrees in social work, are trained to assess and intervene in psychosocial issues affecting individuals, families, and communities. They offer counselling, support, advocacy, and resources to help clients navigate challenges such as relationship problems, life transitions, or socioeconomic stressors.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), ensuring adherence to rigorous standards of professionalism and ethics to safeguard the public’s access to safe, effective, and ethical healthcare.

Additionally, I hold Student Membership with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), Alumni Membership with the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition Alumni Association (CSNNAA), and Standard Membership with the Canadian Association of Holistic Nutrition Professionals (CAHN-Pro).

We offer a range of evidence-based therapy methods, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and more, tailored to meet your specific needs.

You’ll likely notice improvements in your emotional well-being, coping skills, and ability to manage challenges. Regular check-ins with your therapist can also help track progress and address any concerns.

If you’re not experiencing the desired progress, your therapist will collaborate with you to reassess your goals and explore alternative approaches or interventions to better meet your needs.

Ending therapy is a collaborative decision between you and your therapist. Together, you’ll discuss progress, goals, and any remaining concerns to ensure a smooth and successful conclusion to your therapy journey.

Holistic Nutrition Information

Holistic Nutrition focuses on nourishing the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—by considering factors like lifestyle, environment, and individual needs to achieve optimal health and well-being.

A Holistic Nutritionist undergoes training to evaluate your dietary patterns, lifestyle choices, and health objectives, crafting customized nutrition plans to enhance your overall well-being through the utilization of natural, whole foods and holistic methodologies.

Recognizing the interconnectedness of the body’s systems, Holistic Nutritionists delve beyond mere symptoms, acknowledging each individual’s unique biochemical makeup. Through this holistic approach, we aim to pinpoint the root causes of health issues, bridging connections between symptoms and bodily systems. Emphasizing the importance of whole foods and natural remedies, we provide tailored nutrition, supplement, and lifestyle recommendations to address your specific needs.

Although both professions offer nutrition support, their methodologies may vary. Registered Holistic Nutritionists prioritize holistic approaches, addressing not only dietary concerns but also emotional well-being and lifestyle choices. While they receive education from accredited programs, they are currently unregulated in Ontario. On the other hand, Dietitians typically work within clinical settings, offering evidence-based dietary advice customized to individual health conditions. With university degrees in food and nutrition, they are regulated healthcare professionals in Ontario.

I do not believe in labelling foods as ‘good’ or ‘bad’; instead, there are foods that contain more nutrients and support our body and mind than others. When working with clients, I focus on adding natural, whole foods with beneficial nutrients over removing multiple foods. As we all have unique needs, I create your meal plan to meet your specific needs.

While there is a wealth of nutrition information available online, collaborating with a nutrition professional offers personalized guidance, support, and accountability. This ensures that the adjustments made align with your unique needs and schedule.

During a Nutrition Protocol Session, we’ll conduct a comprehensive assessment of your current diet, health concerns, and goals to develop a tailored nutrition plan to address your specific needs.

During follow-up nutrition counselling sessions, we’ll discuss your progress, address any challenges or concerns, and provide guidance and support to help you stay on track towards your health goals.

Whether or not food sensitivities play a role in your symptoms can vary. Certain foods may exacerbate conditions like anxiety, chronic pain, and digestive issues by triggering inflammation in the body. If we decide to eliminate gluten, dairy, sugar, or other potential triggers from your diet, the aim is to gradually reintroduce them once symptoms have improved.
